Role of the committee

A committee is elected at each Annual General Meeting to run the club for the following year.

The main responsibilities of the committee are...

• Ensure the club's constitution, policies and procedures are adhered to
• Appoint a head coach, coaches & team managers
• Arranging training venues
• Distributing uniforms
• Register teams
• Ensure registration fees are collected & accounts are paid
• Liaising with the Melbourne East Basketball Association
• Organizing social and fund raising activities
• Arrange end of season presentation nights
• Produce an annual report and conduct an annual general meeting

Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is conducted yearly in March on the same day as the presentation night for the summer season.

The AGM comprises

• Presentation of the President's annual report
• Presentation of the Treasurer's report and financial statement
• Presentation of the Head coach's report
• Reading and confirmation of the minutes from the previous AGM
• Election of the committee for the following twelve months
• General business
